Obituary for Roy J. Foster

Roy J.  Foster
Roy J. Foster, 74, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday June 25, 2015 at Emory University Hospital Midtown following a brief illness.
Mr. Foster was born January 25, 1941 to the late Willis and Flora Foster. He was raised in North Georgia and had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 40 years. A deacon at Antioch Baptist Church, he worked for a number of years as a custodian for the Dawson County School System where he had recently retired. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Hunter and a number of siblings.
Surviving are his daughters and sons in law, Alinda and Nicholas Baggett, Dawsonville, Wendy and Richard Sfeir, Dawsonville; son, Rodney Foster, Atlanta; sisters, Pauline Champe, Dahlonega, Thelma Davis, Gainesville; brother and sister in law, Howard and Vickie Foster, Cleveland; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday June 27, 2015 at 4 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Stover will officiate. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 1p.m. until the service hour.
