Obituary for Dorothy Mae "Dot" Goode

Dorothy Mae "Dot"  Goode
Dorothy Mae “Dot” Goode, 82, of Dawsonville passed away Monday February 20, 2017 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a period of declining health.
Born April 26, 1934 in Dekalb County to the late Jimmy and Margarite Brownlee, she has lived in Dawson County for the past 62 years. A homemaker at her death, Dot was formerly employed at Hasco, worked for the Dawson County School System and along with her husband formerly owned and operated Amicalola Kitchen. She enjoyed sewing, was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan, enjoyed puzzles, singing in the church choir and loved being called Nanny by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Goode was a member of Goshen Baptist Church, the W.M.U., and was also preceded in death by her brother, James “Early” Brownlee.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, David W. “Red” Goode, Dawsonville; daughters and sons in law, Debra and Jackie Howington, Gainesville, Lynn and Dave Joseph, Dawsonville, Regina Shaw, Cumming, Robin and Nathan Mooney, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Kelly Riley, Jerry Shaw, Tasha and Don Hamil, Shannon and Brian Holden, Alex and Katie Shaw, Nikki Bergen; and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 22, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ronny Bennett will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12 noon until 8 and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 2 at the funeral home.
