Obituary for Gladys Bruce

Gladys  Bruce
Gladys Bruce, 68, of Dawsonville passed away Monday January 30, 2017 at her residence following a sudden illness.
Born March 19, 1948 in Lumpkin County to the late Hubert and Vina Ingram, she lived a number of years in Dawson County before moving to Forsyth County 53 years ago. Gladys retired from the lunchroom department of the Forsyth County School System after over 30 years of service. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister. A member of Christian Hill Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ernest David Bruce; sons, Duane Wesley Bruce, Jeff David Bruce; stepfather, Robert C. Hicks; brothers, Rual Ingram, Roy Ingram, Danny Hicks, Gary Hicks, Kenneth Hicks; sisters, Estell Jett, Kathy Robbins and Robin Hicks.
Surviving are her son, Dwight Bruce, Dawsonville; sisters and brothers in law, Bonnie Gentry, Dawsonville, Barbara and Charles Brown, Dahlonega, Caroline Fauscett, Dawsonville, Patty and Bill McDaniel, Dawsonville, Betty Sue Hicks and Joel Hurst, Elberton; brothers and sisters in law, Ricky and Diane Hicks, Dahlonega, Jimmy Hicks, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday February 2, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leonard W. Ridings and Rev. Cecil Reeves will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
