Obituary for Diana Long

Diana Long, 62, of Dawsonville passed away Monday March 21, 2016 at Vitas Hospital following a period of declining health.
Diana was born February 3, 1954 in Hornchurch, England to the late Albert and Kathleen Lee. She grew up in South Africa earning a degree in nursing. She then moved to Rhodesia where she specialized in labor and delivery and theater technique. Mrs. Long worked as a midwife in South Africa and Saudi Arabia before moving to California. In 2008 she moved to Dawson County and worked at Chestatee Regional and Northside Forsyth Hospitals.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Stirling Long, Dawsonville; children, Bernadette Long, Dawsonville, Antoinette and Sukhi Balu, London, England, Jordan James Long, Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Shannon, Farrah, Annorah; and a sister, Deborah Mary Cook, South Africa.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday April 6, 2016 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Niranjan Noronha will officiate.
The family will receive friends on April 6 beginning at 10 a.m.
