Obituary for Opal Mincey Beaver

Opal Mincey  Beaver
Opal Mincey Beaver, 79, of Lilburn and Dahlonega passed away Monday April 13, 2015 at Piedmont Hospital following a period of declining health.
Opal was born April 7, 1936 in Lumpkin County to the late Frank and Docia Mincey. After graduation from Lumpkin County High School she moved to Atlanta and began her working career at Sears after which she worked 17 years for Gulf Oil. She then worked 14 years for Liberty Mutual until her retirement. Opal enjoyed doing volunteer work at Emory Hospital. She grew up in her home church of Nimblewill and later moved to Lilburn First Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Bonnie Wishon, Verdell Thomas; and brothers, Johnnie Mincey and Leon Mincey.
Surviving are her husband, Gary D. Beaver; stepsons, Keith Beaver, Decatur, David Beaver, Lilburn; sister, Nina Moss, Dahlonega; a number nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 18, 2015 at 11 o’clock at Nimblewill Baptist Church. Rev. Dean Pugh will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nimblewill Baptist Church, c/o Robert Coker, 2897 Nimblewill Church Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533.
