Obituary for Sewell T. Hays

Sewell T.  Hays
Sewell T. Hays, 72, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday December 7, 2013 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born October 3, 1941 in Jackson, KY to the late Clarence and Clara Mae Hays, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 10 years having moved from Jasper, AL. Mr. Hays was employed in the coal mining industry by The Drummond Company for 30 years. While living in Jasper, he coached little league baseball for 20 years. He was very devoted to his family and enjoyed working on antique automobiles. Sewell attended Lighthouse Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Peggy Walker Hays, Dawsonville; children, Tammy and Roy Fox, Middleton, OH, Kim and Freddy Shubert, Jasper, AL, Michelle and Jason Ingram, Bloomingdale, IL, Matt and Holly Hays, Alpharetta, Tracie and Jason Cagle, Dawsonville; sisters, Lydia Lewis, Conyers, Joyce Kist, Stone Mountain; 10 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 10, 2013 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Blackstock will officiate. At his request, Mr. Hays will be cremated following the funeral service.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
