Beth Ledbetter Chester
Always with a presence of kindness, your mother patiently taught me – and so many others – to play the piano. Because of her, many of us learned to play cherished, age-old hymns at revival and other church services throughout the community...pieces which helped uplift thousands over the years. Her work mattered. Its legacy lives on in the music of her students, their own students and those they continue to touch. I believe each of us are called to specific work in this life. No doubt, the strong, beautiful soul I knew as Mrs. Grogan, my teacher, answered her calling with grace and quiet, humble purpose, and I am thankful to have known her.
