Russ was happiest spending time and making memories with his beloved wife, Susan and their boys, Jake and Eli. He was a faithful Christian, loving husband, devoted Daddy, loyal son and brother. His sense of humor never failed to make others around him laugh and smile. Russ always had a passion for racing and started racing go-karts at the age of 5 and advanced to racing his #25 mini stock car competing on asphalt oval tracks as a teenager.
