Obituary for June Chamberlain

June Chamberlain
June Chamberlain, 82, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday January 14, 2018 at her residence following a sudden illness.
June was born June 14, 1935 in Iaeger, West Virginia to the late Oscar and Grace Anglin. She was proud of her West Virginia heritage as a coal miner’s daughter. After moving to St. Cloud, Florida in the 1950s, June was an active student at St. Cloud High School where she played softball, basketball and volleyball until she graduated in 1953. After high school she earned a degree in accounting and worked as a bookkeeper at St. Cloud High School for 30 years until her retirement in 2002. Two of the highlights of her life were to have the ticket booth at St. Cloud High School named in her honor and her induction into the St. Cloud Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017. After retirement she moved to Dawsonville in 2009 and had been a resident of Dahlonega for the past year. A member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, she enjoyed travelling with her daughter and most of all spending time with her family and great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Chamberlain.
Surviving are her daughter, Jill Chamberlain, Dahlonega; sister, Audrey Hansell, Franklin, NC; grandchildren, Josh and Cami Delano, Dahlonega, Lindsay and Matt Pippin, St. Cloud, FL; great-grandchildren, Brylee Pippin, Hadley Delano, Emersyn Borucki; nephew, Tommy Hansell, Franklin, NC; other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday January 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Blackstock will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12 noon until the service hour.
