My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. Although I didn't get an opportunity to work very closely with Roy, he left a lasting memory from the few interactions that we did have. He was always smiling or giggling, even in the toughest of situations. There was comfort in his southern accent and sweet demeanor. Roy's best attribute was his bright, warm personality. Roy knew no stranger and his smile would light up a room. Work was Roy's passion and not matter the situation, he was always that positive encouragement. A few months ago, walked passed one another offsite at our Chicago-based office location. We both smiled, said "hi" and talked for a few minutes. A few days later, we passed one another in the hallway back at our office work. We both said, "long time no see", briefly caught up then headed our own way. Even though we have a hole our lives with Roy's passing, we have the memories of who Roy was in our lives. It was an honor to have know and worked with Roy.
