Frances Nell Vaughan, 88, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday February 4, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness.
Born November 25, 1928 to the late Horace and Christine Strickland, she had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 13 years. Spending most of her life in Alpharetta, Frances was a graduate of Milton High School and worked as a beautician with a salon in her home for many years. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Milton where she served as pianist for a number of years. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Vaughan, and sister in law, Mary Strickland.
Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Ricky and Janet Vaughan, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Naomi and Kenneth Webb, Brent Vaughan, Timothy Vaughan, all of Dawsonville; great grandchildren, Madison Webb, Gregory Webb; sister and brother in law, Shirley and Roy Martin, Cherokee County; brothers and sister in law, Roy Lee and Betty Strickland, Douglasville, Louie Strickland, Florida; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday February 8, 2017 at 1 o’clock at Green Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Danny Bennett will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 until 7.
In lieu of flowers Frances requested donations be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 2065 Bethany Church Road, Alpharetta, GA 30004.
