Obituary for Charles M. "Charlie" Johnston

Charles M. “Charlie” Johnston, 64, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday April 9, 2016.
Born September 21, 1951 in Tampa, Florida to the late Charles and Carol Quillian Johnston, he had lived in Smyrna and Sandy Springs before moving to Dawson County 15 years ago. Charlie attended The University of Georgia where he was a member of the KA Fraternity. For many years, Mr. Johnston was employed by Steelcase, Inc. after which he and his wife owned Travel Management, Inc. He currently owned and operated Gotta Eat!, a food service company. Charlie was an Eagle Scout, was a Master Gardener, and was a past member of the Buckhead Men’s Garden Club and the Rotary Club of Dunwoody. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Dorothy Hays Johnson Johnston.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Teresa Rongo Johnston, Dawsonville; sister and brother in law, Charlene and Robert Hall, Cumming; brother and sister in law, Ty and Trish Johnston, Marquez, TX; step sister and brother in law, Becky and Paul Greech, Mansfield; step brother, Mike Johnson, Macon; sister in law and brother in law, Toni and Lee Winters, Sandy Springs; brother in law and sister in law, Dennis and Deborah Rongo, Knoxville, TN; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday April 30, 2016 at 3 o’clock at the Church of the Apostles. Rev. J. P. Morris will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.
