Condolence From: Rupert Sexton, Cumming, Ga US Army 1961 - 1963
Condolence: Definition of a Veteran A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Condolence From: Rachel (Styles) Brown
Condolence: My goodness, where do I even start to try to remember and love these most special people in my life??? Wade and Marvene have been my "adopted grandparents" for more years than I will EVER willingly admit :-) They both got just so extremely excited when Rob and I would be visiting for a portion of the Summer when Dad was stationed in the USA...RIGHT next to how excited both Granny and Grandpa got!! As a matter of fact, one of the very first weddings I ever attended was Linda's at Juno Baptist Church...back when the Juno Post Office was right across the highway!! Once Dad was retired from the USAF when I was a teenager, I quickly learned to look for Grandpa's red barn (no matter just how bad of shape it got into!!) on the right after passing Wade and Marvene's house when we were driving to Granny and Grandpa's house!! Of course, seeing that barn, and then pulling into the driveway, would always unleash a montage of very happy memories... Wade just loved teaching both Rob and I about crop farming, care of the various animals Grandpa farmed, the proper care feeding and upkeep of a pickup truck, and ESPECIALLY how to ride that simply beloved old Ford tractor that is such a HUGE memory for ALL of the Styles Grandchildren!!! Of course, there will NEVER be adequate words to thank Marvene for all of her loving care of Granny over the years...from doing her hair (and lovingly pushing her when it was WAAAY past time for a cut and new perm), coming for an unexpected visit in the afternoon, and particularly for her extraordinary and exquisitely loving care of Granny during her abject NIGHTMARE of Alzheimer's Disease over those long, lonely and eventually inspiring years...we LOVE you more than you will ever know, Marvene!!! Dad and I plan to be there tomorrow...while HATING the circumstances for the visit, we look so forward to loving each of y'all as you travel these most difficult, and painful days. Warmly and with our love, Rachel (and also on behalf of James, Betsy and Rob)
