Obituary for Floyd Chester

Floyd Chester, 75, of Cumming passed away Saturday April 28, 2018 at Seasons Hospice following a period of declining health.
Born and raised in Dawsonville, Floyd has been a resident of Cumming for over fifty years. A family man, hard worker, avid outdoorsman and faithful friend, he was known for his humor, quick wit and “smart mouth.” Floyd was of Christian faith and worked for over thirty years with Larry Watson Digging. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie “Punk” Kincaid and son, David Chester.
Surviving are his previous wife, Brenda Ramey, son, Jeffery Chester, brother, Jimmy Kincaid, all of Dawsonville, granddaughter, Jessica Chester of Cumming, great-granddaughter, Penelope Chester, sisters in law, Dorothy Collins of Cumming, Patricia Collins Stephens of Pickens, SC, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends at Bearden Funeral Home on Monday April 30, 2018 beginning at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Rual Martin will officiate. The family will meet at 4:30 p.m. at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens for interment.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to help offset final expenses.
