Obituary for Kirk W. Brookshire

Kirk W.  Brookshire
Kirk W. Brookshire, 61, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday January 13, 2018.
Born November 29, 1956 in the Ancon, Canal Zone and had been living in Dawson County since 1999 having moved from Forsyth County. Kirk grew up as an “Army Brat” and traveled the world with his family. He was a graduate of Riverside Military Academy and North Georgia College. Mr. Brookshire was an Eagle Scout and was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran where he served as a Marine Paratrooper. Currently he worked as an over the road driver for a commercial transportation company, was a gun enthusiast and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jeffrey Brookshire and Timothy Brookshire.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Cindy Brookshire, Dawsonville; children, Shannon Brookshire, Alpharetta, William Brookshire, Dawsonville; parents, LTC (R) George W. “Bill” and Jane Brookshire, Dawsonville; sister, Sarah Brookshire, Gainesville; sister in law, Kimberly Brookshire, Henderson, MD; nieces, Emily Brookshire and Amy Brookshire.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held Saturday January 27, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at his residence.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the veteran or animal charity of your choice.
