Myrtle “Granny” Garner, 75, of Auburn, GA passed away Wednesday July 19, 2017 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born September 17, 1941 to the late Sam and Vera Pope, she was a native of Roswell and had lived in Auburn for the past year having moved from Rockmart. A homemaker at her death, Myrtle was formerly employed at Roswell Recycling and Great Oaks Nursing Home. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she possessed a love for animals and enjoyed flowers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Garner, a sister and two brothers.
Surviving are her children, Cynthia and Kevin McGrath, Dawsonville, Jeff Garner, Duluth, Susan Grizzle, Dallas, Sandra Garner, Murrayville, Bo Garner and Melissa Hall, Alpharetta, Judy Garner, Auburn; 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday July 21, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Ricky Stepp will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1 until 2 at the funeral home.
