Obituary for Evelyn W. Smith

Evelyn W.  Smith
Evelyn W. Smith, 91, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday June 4, 2017 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born January 16, 1926 to the late Boyd and Lillian Wiles in Oakland, Tennessee, Evelyn had been a resident of Dawson County since 1981 coming from Atlanta. A member of First Redeemer Church in Cumming, she was an active member of the Dawson County and Georgia Republican Party and also a long time leader in the Dawson County Woman’s Club. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Smith, Jr.; brother, Thomas Wiles; sisters, Ellen Boals, Bertha Butler, Glenda Wiles, Ernestine Wiles.
Surviving are her sons and daughters in law, Brad and Robin Smith, Louisville, TN, Jeff and Cindy Smith, Alpharetta, Clint Smith, Dawsonville, Mitchell Smith, Milledgeville; brother, Raymond Wiles, Columbus; grandchildren, Jane, Wesley, Garrett, and Tatum Smith; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends on Friday June 9, 2017 from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday June 10, 2017 at 11 AM at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Larry Aultman will officiate.
Interment services will be held Monday June 12, 2017 at 12:30 PM at Georgia National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
