Melody Looper  Collins
Melody Looper Collins, 65, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born August 27, 1951, Melody was a resident of Dawsonville for most of her life. She worked for many years at Bell South until her retirement, which she enjoyed to the fullest. She loved animals, but above all she loved her husband and her family. She was a member of Dawsonville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Max Looper; brother, Randy Looper; and brother-in-law, Mark Haselton.
Surviving are her husband, Jimmy “Ruff” Collins of Dawsonville; son, Dustin McElroy of Alpharetta; mother, Virginia Looper Taylor of Alpharetta; sisters, Vicki Looper of Cumming and Pam Haselton of Alpharetta; brother, Kevin Taylor (Lisa) of Cumming; niece, Jennifer Burt (Eugene) and their children, Andrew and Natalie, all of Dawsonville; and many other loving relatives.
A celebration of Melody’s life will take place at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday April 26, 2017 in the Chapel of Bearden Funeral Home. Rev. Cory Gilleland will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dawsonville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the funeral hour Wednesday at the funeral home.
