Obituary for Mary Ann Aycock

Mary Ann  Aycock
Mary Ann Aycock, 66, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday March 12, 2017 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born August 3, 1950 in Hall County to the late Percy T. and Wynell Johnson, she lived in Irwinton, Georgia for 15 years before moving to Lumpkin County in 1986. Mary Ann taught social sciences at Wilkinson Junior High School in Irwington for 15 years after which she taught at Dawson County High School for 6 years prior to her retirement. A member of Antioch Baptist Church she enjoyed gospel music, playing the piano and genealogy.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Mel Aycock, Dahlonega; daughters and sons in law, Miranda Aycock and Jason Ericksen, Dahlonega, Kimberly and Matt Head, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Dylan Ericksen, Karisa Ericksen, Paige Ericksen; and a nephew, Jeffrey Abbott, Helen, GA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 15, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Emerson Payne and Rev. Doug Sherill will officiate. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Emphysema Foundation, 18 East Avenue #7, Norwalk, CT 06851.
