Obituary for Martha Day

Martha  Day
Martha Day, 63, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday February 7, 2017 at her residence following a short illness.
Born October 16, 1953 to the late Lee Joe and Bertha Richards, she had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 49 years coming from Forsyth County. A member of Harmony Baptist Church, she was employed as a supervisor for Walt Koch, Ltd. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother she is also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Rev. J.W. Day.
Surviving are her children, Paula Green, Gainesville, Tracy and Michael Powers, Gainesville, James and Patty Day, Dawsonville, B.J. Day, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Justin Green, Josh Green, Devin Powers, Taylor Day; sisters and brother in law, Betty Sue and David Rhoden, Cumming, Peggy Day, Cumming, Mary Ann “Puddin” Richards, Cumming, Lula Nix, Dawsonville; aunt, Evelyn Stancil, Dahlonega; a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday February 10, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Tony Holtzclaw, Rev. Joey Gilbert, and Rev. John Roden will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 until 8 and Thursday from 2 until 8.
