Obituary for William "Bill" Repella

William (Bill) Repella, born in 1928 in Mahonoy City, PA, passed away Jan 30. Bill served in the Navy in WWII and then served on the Oahu, HI police force until post-war cut-backs. He worked building airplane propellers and then in construction until the Korean War, when he joined the Army. He was stationed in Germany and then in Korea at the Pusan Perimeter. After leaving the Army, he worked in construction in New Jersey and was sent to Plant City, FL as foreman building the court house. He then moved to Orlando where he met his future wife, Billie Ruth Spurrier. He then rejoined the Army, went to Airborne school and Special Forces training. Bill did two tours in Vietnam, one in Thailand, and spent seven months in the hospital after being wounded. He was then stationed at Ft Devins, MA, and at the Georgia Military College as R.O.T.C. instructor before retiring to Florida where he worked for a time at Disney World as a security guard. He moved to Georgia in 1991 and Dawsonville became his home of choice. He is survived by his wife, Billie, four siblings, two in-laws, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He loved his God, his family, and the many wonderful friends made over the years.
Memorial services will be held Saturday February 11, 2017 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Randy M. Smith will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Saturday February 11 from 10 a.m. until 11 at the funeral home.
