Obituary for Glen Pat Gober

Glen Pat  Gober
Glen Pat Gober, 76, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday December 17,, 2016 at his residence following a sudden illness.
Born June 20, 1940 in Forsyth County to the late George and Mary Kate Gober, he had lived in Dawson County since the 1960’s. Mr. Gober was employed as a U.S.D.A. poultry inspector for 35 years. Pat was also worked as a farmer and served many years as the president of the Dawson County Chapter of Georgia Farm Bureau and was a founding member of the Dawson County Jaycees. He received many awards and special recognitions from several of Georgia’s sitting Governors. A member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jerrie Dean Gober.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Jessie Lynn Gober, Dawsonville; children, Chris and Elaine Gober, Bryan and Stella Gober, Jessie Wayne Boling, Kelly and Tommy Gillian, Cody and Scott Wood, all of Dawsonville; sister, Gloria Ann Wallis, Cumming; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 20, 2016 at 1 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tony Holtzclaw will officiate. Interment will follow in the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 1 until 8 at the funeral home.
