Terry E. Thurmond, 66, of Dawsonville passed away Friday September 16, 2016 at Northside Hospital Forsyth following a sudden illness.
Born September 23, 1949 to the late Leland and Christine Thurmond, Terry was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and brother. Terry worked hard and enjoyed life. He is also preceded in death by a son, Shane Thurmond.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Sybil Kent Thurmond; son, Leland Thurmond; grandchildren, Aly, Ashton and Chloe Thurmond; brothers and sister in law, Horace Thurmond, Robert and Joann Thurmond; sisters, Brenda Dean, Melissa O’Brien, all of Dawsonville; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives
Funeral services will be held Monday September 19, 2016 at 2 o’clock at Mill Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 until 8.
