Jack Lisenby, 75, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday November 21, 2013 at his residence following a period of declining health. Born May 13, 1938 in Newville, Alabama to the late Irvin and Annie Merle Lisenby, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 17 years having moved from Winder. Mr. Lisenby served four years in the U. S. Navy after which he served sixteen years in the U. S. Coast Guard until his retirement. He held a B. S. degree in business and accounting and was a master woodworker. Jack was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Willie Belle Watson, Sandra Warren; and brothers, Bill Lisenby, James Lisenby and Grover Lisenby. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lisenby, Dawsonville; children, Jack A. Lisenby, Melbourne, FL, Lonnie Lisenby, Lawrenceville, Tina Lisenby, Georgia, Karen Layman, Jefferson; sisters, Annie Mae Evans, Plant City, FL, Inez Millines, Dothan, AL; brothers, Alton Lisenby, Plant City, FL, Will Lisenby, Milton, FL; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Saturday November 30, 2013 at 2 o’clock at Sweetwater Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Flowers will officiate. Condolences may be expressed at www.beardenfuneralhome.com.
